1% for the arts
Fabrication & production for the '1% for Art' scheme and public commissions
The 1% artistic program is a unique initiative that closely links contemporary creation to the requirements of public spaces. Beyond the artistic gesture, these projects involve a rigorous regulatory and administrative framework.
art project acts as the technical and operational partner for award-winning artists, architects, and production agencies. Our mission is to ensure the feasibility, manufacture, and installation of the artwork, while managing all regulatory constraints specific to public commissions.

Design Office & Support During the Tender Phase
Success in the competition phase (sketch/preliminary design) depends on the reliability of the dossier submitted to the artistic committee. We work alongside the preselected artist or production agency to put together a solid proposal:
• Costing and Feasibility:
Establishment of a reliable and controlled production budget. We anticipate ancillary technical costs (lifting, structures, sealing) to ensure the economic viability of the project within the allocated budget.
• Complete Technical Response:
Comprehensive development of the technical aspects of the thesis: choice of materials, manufacturing process, assembly scenario. We transform artistic intent into a structured technical response.
• Constraint Analysis (ERP):
Upstream verification of safety standards (accessibility for people with reduced mobility, impact resistance, fire safety) to ensure that the project complies with regulations from the design stage onwards.

Manufacturing, Standards & Compliance with Technical Specifications
As a manufacturing partner or production lot agent, we ensure the completion of the work in our workshops, managing the complex interface with construction regulations:
• Management of Implementation Studies (EXE):
Translation of the artistic project into technical plans. We manage external structural engineering firms to produce the calculation notes (Eurocodes) required for dimensioning.
• Control Room Interface:
We coordinate with technical inspectors to obtain favorable opinions (strength, stability), thereby facilitating the artist's work in meeting regulatory requirements.
• Hardware Requirements:
Metalworking, composites, or technical materials with complete traceability, adapted to the constraints of long-term outdoor exposure.

Logistics, Installation & Acceptance
Integrating the artwork on site requires careful coordination with other trades. Our dedicated teams handle installation and finishing touches on site:
• Construction Site Safety (PPSPS):
Rigorous management of on-site operations (marking, lifting, simultaneous activities) and drafting of mandatory prevention plans for operations on public property.
• File of Completed Works (DOE):
Submission of the final file to the project owner, including as-built drawings and the maintenance log (DIUO) to ensure future maintenance of the work.
• Receipt & Compliance:
Administrative and technical support until the reservations are lifted and the works acceptance report is signed.
